Self-care, a word that has been overused in the recent years and has popped up almost everywhere. Talk shows, News, Pod casts, social media, campaigns, and even places like corporate and family gatherings- almost everyone has capitalized on the idea of self-care.

But what does it mean? Well, self-care is the word of the year. The idea of inculcating self-love and protecting one’s own mental health is quite a mindful way of prioritizing one’s own health, and we are all about it.

Taking care of your health- 3 ways to self-care

It's 2024, and everyone we know is fighting an internal battle, consciously or not. Whether it is juggling between work or life, or a fight with a friend, the godforsaken stress has crawled its way into our lives.

Can we be honest? The Internet may have filled the minds of young people that self-care is only about doing what makes you feel comfortable and loved. While we agree to disagree, self-care is also about challenging yourself, being a better version of yourself, and bettering every day. Here are 3 thing you can inculcate in your life to become a better version of yourselves.

1. A little Exercise hurt no one

We are no Arnold Schwarger ourselves, but let's just say your body is your temple. Make sure to move it around, sometimes challenge your limits and see where it goes. Exercising helps release happy pheromones in your body, making you feel more fulfilled and satisfied.

2. Discipline is the Key

Sorry to disappoint if you were thinking that you are in a ted talk or a podcast of a life guru. This is just an open letter to one human to another, writing from experience how much a good routine and consistency changes things. Discipline is not just a textbook rule, it’s the difference between those who are trying and those who are already there.

3. Be Kind

We believe in the forces of nature and the energies that flow around us. To us, the biggest gift you can give to someone is by being kind. Social media comes with its beautiful sets of gifts, but also some drawbacks and we know how it affects you. In a world often characterized by cutthroat competition, choosing kindness is an act of defiance against cynicism and an act of compassion.

While we know there is a wide range of skincare brands on the internet, all promising you an everlasting after-glow, we promise nothing (and we repeat nothing) can ever even come close to the glow from within. And this only comes when you love yourself, take good care, and choose to be kind. Self-care beyond skincare is about fostering a deep connection with ourselves and the world around us, and we leave this rather beautiful responsibility on your shoulders.
